The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien I don't want to give too much away in case there is actually someone out there who has never read it, but I read a 1 star review of this a week or two ago and wanted to wait until I finished rereading to react. That reviewer seemed to have a problem with the plot. I enjoyed it. I especially like the troubles that occurred after they arrived at the mountain, when the Lake-Men and Elves showed up. The nitty gritty politics of it all was interesting and not at all tedious.

Bilbo's character arc was another interesting thing to rebehold (If that's not a word, I don't mind.). And the whole there-and-backness of it all. When Bilbo arrived home, I really did appreciate the peace and quiet, along with him. What a wonderful message that is too, peace and quiet.
